Frozen Shrimp Recall Impacts These Brands at Publix, Albertsons, Safeway & More

Another frozen shrimp recall has pulled multiple brands from many supermarkets including Publix, Albertsons, Safeway, and more. Many consumers will recognize the Waterfront Bistro brand, which has been impacted alongside AquaStar, Best Yet, and Publix’s own brand. These packages have been recalled due to possible radioactive contamination, which already affected other brands from Walmart and Kroger in August. Here’s a list of shrimp products that have been impacted by this additional recall.

Cesium-137, abbreviated as Cs-137, is a man-made form of cesium and traces of the element can be found in the environment and at higher levels in water or where foods are grown, raised, and produced.

Thankfully, no illnesses have been reported due to consumers ingesting the possibly contaminated shrimp brands. Still, those who have purchased the affected shrimp are recommended not to consume the product and either dispose them or ask for a full refund at the place of purchase.
