Peacock has reportedly added a new drama series led by Taraji P. Henson to its upcoming slate. The project is based on a recent novel by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and marks a collaboration between their production banners. Early details suggest it will blend crime, power, and moral conflict in a high-stakes story.

Taraji P. Henson will star in and executive-produce Peacock’s television adaptation of The Accomplice, a crime novel by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and Aaron Philip Clark. The project, produced by Universal Content Productions, is currently in development with Jackson’s G-Unit Films and Television and Henson’s TPH Entertainment attached. No writer has been announced for the series (via Variety).

According to the official logline, Henson will play Nia Adams, a fearless Texas Ranger chasing master thief Desmond Bell. His latest heist targets one of America’s wealthiest families. As Adams closes in, she uncovers a web of corruption that forces her to choose between revealing the truth and protecting the system she swore to uphold. Jackson released the novel in 2024, and the show marks Henson’s second collaboration with Peacock after Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist.

Both Henson and Jackson serve as non-writing executive producers on the series. Jackson’s upcoming projects include Fightland for Starz, the home of his Power franchise. The universe spans multiple spin-offs, including Power Book II: Ghost, Power Book III: Raising Kanan, and Power Book IV: Force. He is also developing Hip Hop Cop for Hulu and a Netflix docuseries about Sean “Diddy” Combs.

Henson, known for her roles in Empire and Hidden Figures, recently signed a first-look deal with Fox Entertainment Studios to develop scripted and unscripted projects. She also holds a two-picture film deal with Netflix (via Deadline). Her recent credits include The Color Purple and Think Like a Man Too. She has earned multiple Emmy nominations and an Academy Award nomination for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

The Accomplice continues Peacock’s expansion into original, character-driven drama series.
