Leonardo DiCaprio was reportedly stopped by security for a brief moment at the 2026 Golden Globe Awards. The actor was not allowed to return to his seat temporarily, due to a strict rule at the event, which prevents any guest from moving through the audience while the show is on air.
Leonardo DiCaprio stopped by security
According to a recent Daily Mail article, a reporter from Vanity Fair allegedly witnessed Golden Globes security briefly stopping Leonardo DiCaprio from returning to his seat. “I saw security stop Leonardo DiCaprio from heading to his seat during Snoop Dogg’s bit,” the reporter stated. “Chase Sui Wonders and Selena Gomez also had to wait in the same star-studded group,” they added.
This happened after DiCaprio found himself as the subject of a playful jab from host Nikki Glaser during her opening monologue. Poking fun at the actor’s dating history, Glaser said, “I mean, countless iconic performances. You’ve worked with every great director. You’ve won three Golden Globes and an Oscar.”
She added, “And the most impressive thing is that you were able to accomplish all of that before your girlfriend turned 30,” she joked. The camera then cut to DiCaprio, who reacted with a thumbs-up.
Glaser then apologized for the joke by saying, “I’m sorry I made that joke, it’s cheap. I tried not to, but we don’t know anything else about you, man, there’s nothing else. I mean, open up!” She added, “The most in-depth interview you’ve ever given was in Teen Beat magazine in 1991. Is your favorite food still pasta, pasta, and more pasta?”
The 83rd Golden Globe Awards took place at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles on Sunday, January 11. DiCaprio was nominated for Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical for his memorable performance in Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another. The award finally went to Timothée Chalamet for Marty Supreme.
