Taylor Swift has done it again: she has once again worked the magic of her voice and talent to achieve a major milestone. Her latest song, “The Fate of Ophelia,” from her 12th studio album “The Life of a Showgirl,” has claimed the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for a ninth week. This makes it the longest-running No. 1 song of her career. Although the track briefly slipped to No. 28 during the holiday season, it surged back to the top spot once holiday songs faded from the charts. With this achievement, the song has even surpassed “Anti-Hero” as her longest-running Billboard Hot 100 No. 1.
Taylor Swift’s ‘The Fate of Ophelia’ overtakes ‘Anti-Hero’ as longest-running no. 1
Taylor Swift released her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” on October 3, 2025. The album features many upbeat songs with meaningful lyrics. As soon as it was released, it began breaking records, and now the pop singer has achieved a major accomplishment.
Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia” has reportedly overtaken “Anti-Hero” to become her longest-running No. 1 song on Billboard. So far, “The Fate of Ophelia” has spent nine weeks at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100. During the festive season, the song briefly slipped to No. 28, but it quickly bounced back to No. 1 again.
Previously, her song “Anti-Hero” held the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for eight weeks. This marks a new career record for the “Opalite” singer. Meanwhile, another song from the album, “Elizabeth Taylor,” has also entered the chart.
As of now, Swift’s latest album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” has held the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 for 12 weeks, which is an exceptionally impressive run. However, it still needs six more weeks at the top to surpass her current record-holder, “The Tortured Poets Department,” which remains in the Top 50 even after 88 weeks on the chart.
