The Kansas City Chiefs’ 14-12 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders marked the end of their disappointing 2025 season. Shortly after their final game, Travis Kelce shared an update on when he will make his decision on whether to retire.

Speaking to Kansas City Star reporter Sam McDowell in a post-game interview, Travis Kelce looked back on the Chiefs’ 2025 season and thanked his teammates for their tremendous effort. “First things first, I just love this team,” Kelce began. “Guys like Chris Jones, who is pointing at me from across the room,” he said, smiling.

The Chiefs star had nothing but praise for his teammates, saying he’s “proud of the way we finished the season, even though it ended the way it did. Guys still showed up and gave it their all. That’s all you can ask for.”

Kelce went on to share when he might make his decision about his future in the league. “I’ve got so much love for this team, this organization, and the people here. So I’ll spend some time with them, go through exit meetings tomorrow. And get close to the family and figure things out,” the Chiefs star stated.

The reporter then asked Kelce whether he might take some time away from the season before making his decision, as previously suggested by coach Andy Reid. “Who knows? Either it hits me quick, or I gotta take some time.” He further added, “I think last year was a little bit easier. I think I knew right away I wanted to give this one a shot. So, we’ll see.”

A second reporter then asked Kelce if he felt like he had been a “better player” this season. Kelce replied, “Obviously, we didn’t do as well as a team, but I felt like I came into the season prepared and ready to rock n’ roll with the right intentions.”
