Taylor Swift was not in attendance to support her beau, Travis Kelce, during his team, the Kansas City Chiefs’ final game of the season against the Las Vegas Raiders. Many were left wondering why she did not appear at what could have been Kelce’s final game, amid his ongoing retirement rumors. While the Chiefs were already out of playoff contention earlier, the season still ended on a sour note, as they were defeated by the Raiders with a 14–12 score.
Taylor Swift skips Travis Kelce’s Chiefs game
The ‘Reputation’ singer was missing from Kelce’s Chiefs final game of the NFL season against the Raiders, sparking widespread discussion. This is because Swift typically makes time to attend games and support her partner from the stands, except on occasions when she is occupied with professional or personal commitments. Given that the game could have marked Kelce’s final appearance amid ongoing retirement speculation, her absence from such a significant moment in his career came as a surprise to many.
However, many have also noted a repeated pattern that Swift has limited her appearances, appearing mostly during the Chiefs’ home matches at Arrowhead Stadium. This could be because of security reasons, as Marca states. She last appeared during the Chiefs’ match against the Denver Broncos on Christmas.
While the Chiefs lost the final match of the season, there’s still no update on Kelce’s future in the NFL. However, Kelce did hint to the reporters what his thoughts are and what he’s up to next, following the loss against the Raiders.
He said, “I’ve got so much love for this team, this organization and the people here, so I’ll spend some time with them, go through exit meetings tomorrow and get close to the family and figure things out.” While he was certain about giving this season a shot, he expressed uncertainty about returning next year, revealing that he plans to assess how he feels during the offseason. “Who knows? Either it hits me quick or I gotta take some time. I think last year was a little bit easier,” he added.
