How Chiefs’ players ignited Travis Kelce’s retirement talks

In footage circulating online, Chiefs players Jones and Karlaftis waited for Travis at the tunnel at Arrowhead Stadium, which has sparked retirement rumors once again. As Kelce joined them, he patted Jones on the back, with Karlaftis noticing and pulling the same move on him. Together, they headed out with disappointment of defeat on their faces. Fans also took to social media to share their reactions to this emotional moment.

The match with the Denver Broncos on Christmas was the second-to-last match of the season for the Chiefs. Following the Broncos game, Kelce addressed the media to share how emotional the game was for him. He said, “There’s a whole lot of emotions, man. Have everybody in the world watching ya. Get to go out there with a guy, a young guy like Chris Oladokun. Prime-time television. Excited for him, excited for the guys around us. A lot of young guys getting opportunities to taste what this NFL life on a big stage feels like, and I just wanted to get out there and get a win for those guys, man.”

When asked about his retirement, Kelce refused to give a definite answer. He added, “I’ll let that (retirement) be a decision that I make with my family, friends, the Chiefs organization, when the time comes.”

The Chiefs have a 6-10 record this season and have missed the playoffs. They will face the Las Vegas Raiders in the final game of their season in early January.
