Burger King is bringing a taste of Bikini Bottom to its restaurants as it just launched a limited-time SpongeBob SquarePants-themed menu. It’s timed with the upcoming movie release of The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants. Available from December 2, the menu packs a wave of character-inspired items, from a special Whopper to a pirate’s float.
Burger King’s new menu includes SpongeBob
The collaboration, announced on December 1, turns Burger King into a temporary hub for SpongeBob fans. All items are available for a limited time. The SpongeBob Menu features several original creations crafted specifically for the movie collaboration. Leading the lineup is SpongeBob’s Krabby Whopper. It is a ¼-pound flame-grilled beef patty stacked on a yellow square bun and topped with American cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions, ketchup, and mayo.
Fans can also try Mr. Krabs’ Cheesy Bacon Tots, crispy coin-shaped bites filled with cheese, bacon, and potatoes, served in a treasure chest-style container. For dessert, Burger King is offering Patrick’s Star-berry Shortcake Pie. This includes strawberry and vanilla-flavored layers, a cookie crumb crust, shortcake cookie crumbles, and pink star sprinkles.
On the beverage side, the menu introduces the Pirate’s Frozen Pineapple Float, a chilled pineapple drink finished with tropical-flavored cold foam. For those who want the full experience, Burger King has created the Bikini Bottom Bundle. This bundle packs all four items into a pineapple-shaped Under the Sea Box. It includes a medium float and 8-piece Cheesy Bacon Tots.
Kids can enjoy a themed experience too. The special-edition King Jr. Meal comes in the same pineapple-shaped box. It includes one of six collectible SpongeBob toys plus a limited-edition SpongeBob crown.
Joel Yashinsky, Burger King’s chief marketing officer, called it one of the brand’s most ambitious tie-ins yet. “This latest partnership with The SpongeBob Movie might just be our most exciting menu yet, with four delicious menu innovations, one-of-a-kind toys, and exclusive packaging including two special edition BK crowns,” Yashinsky said in the announcement.
