The veteran TV personality has publicly asked for support and prayers for her daughter, Chelsea Belle O’Donnell, who is facing serious legal troubles.
“I have compassion for those struggling with addiction,” Rosie O’Donnell told Entertainment Weekly. “Chelsea was born into addiction, and it has been a painful journey for her and her four young children. We continue to love and support her through these horrible times. Prayers welcomed.”
Additionally, on October 29, The View alumna shared a photo of a young Chelsea on Instagram with a heartfelt caption. She wrote, “My child Chelsea Belle – before addiction took over her life – I loved her then I love her now as she faces a scary future- prayers welcomed- #addiction awareness #love #family.”
Chelsea Belle O’Donnell’s legal struggles have been ongoing and difficult since September 2024. Her first arrest on September 10 involved multiple felony charges, including neglecting a child and possession of methamphetamine.
After posting bail, Chelsea was arrested two more times before the end of the year. As a result, she faced several felony counts, including possession of methamphetamine, resisting or obstructing an officer, and bail jumping. (via Entertainment Weekly)
On March 31, 2025, the Wisconsin court sentenced Rosie O’Donnell’s daughter to six years’ probation, two years for each count. The court also warned her that violating probation could result in prison time.
Court records show that Chelsea was removed from a Marinette County Treatment Drug Court in September after misconduct. Following probation violations, she received jail time after her probation revocation on October 22, 2025.
Rosie adopted Chelsea at a very young age with her ex-partner, Kelli Carpenter. However, issues reportedly began after she moved to Wisconsin to reunite with her biological mother. Chelsea is also a mother to four young children—Skylar Rose, Riley, Avery Lynn, and Atlas.
