Jim O’Heir reveals Parks and Recreation costar Nick Offerman pranked him during flight
Jim O’Heir, best known for his role on Parks and Recreation, took to Instagram to share about an unexpected reunion with his former co-star Nick Offerman. O’Heir revealed that Offerman pranked him during the flight by making a safety announcement over the flight’s PA system, and even referencing O’Heir’s character from the beloved show.
He also posted a photo that he took with Offerman at the airport.
He wrote, “Offerman and I were on the same flight. I didn’t know that until we were about to land and he got on the speaker and started talking about Jerry, Gary, Larry, and Terry Gergich. The flight attendants were also in on it. It was awesome.”
Later, O’Heir shared a clip where Offerman is seen speaking on the speaker.
Offerman announced, “As I always say, ‘Don’t half-a– your safety, only whole-a–.”
The actor continued, “If you’re traveling to areas like Muncie, and your last name is Gergich, first name Jerry, Larry, Barry, or Garry, please behave yourself and travel safely.” He concluded, “Thank you for choosing American Airlines.”
Both actors featured in the popular mockumentary comedy Parks and Recreation. The show ran for seven seasons between 2009 and 2015. Nick Offerman played Ron Swanson, the director of the Pawnee City Department. Meanwhile, Jim O’Heir played Jerry Gergich, though his character was also referenced as Garry, Larry, and Barry throughout the series.
After the show ended, the cast reunited for A Parks and Recreation Special, which aired April 30, 2020. This special episode was written to raise money for Feeding America.
