Meghan Markle’s blender blunder has reportedly turned her into a laughing stock among royals. According to a source, the Duchess of Sussex’s “authenticity” has been questioned after she was seen holding a blender upside down.
Recently, a photo of her promoting her American Riviera Orchard jam caught people’s attention. Many noticed that the former actress was holding the jar from the opposite end.
Critics are calling Meghan Markle’s blender slip ‘upsidedown-gate,’ says source
Meghan Markle has been receiving backlash for holding a jam blender wrong. A royal insider told Rob Shuter that the duchess should have known “which end of the tool to hold,” if she’s building a brand on “authenticity and homegrown wholesomeness.” Furthermore, critics have reportedly been calling the incident “upsidedown-gate.”
They claimed that it seemed to suit Markle, as they had always seen her as polished but not very real. While a PR strategist found it “symbolic” and “staged,” supporters allegedly defended the “Suits” alum and called it “relatable.”
Meanwhile, “Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered” host Kinsey Schofield, too, criticized Markle while discussing the photo on Sky News Australia. “It’s the perfect metaphor for brand Meghan,” she mocked the blender slip. Schofield further claimed that the duchess should have been aware of the product when she wanted to sell it.
“It’s giving grifter energy, not lifestyle guru,” she added. Agreeing with her, news host Rita Panahi pointed out that Markle’s staff members might “hate” her, as nobody corrected her.
This is not the first time reports of her receiving a negative response have made headlines. An earlier report stated that Prince William and Kate Middleton’s inner circle allegedly makes fun of her brand, As Ever. The group seemingly jokes around about the lifestyle brand and calls it “As If.”
“Within William and Kate’s circle, people joked by calling it ‘As If,’ meaning they doubt it will ever succeed. It became a running joke that had everyone laughing,” a source mentioned.
