A recent Peacemaker theory suggests one character introduced in Season 2 potentially has a bigger role to play as the DCU expands. The sophomore season of the popular HBO Max series takes place within the DCU, which makes everything that happens in the ongoing chapter of the show very much canon in the franchise.

Peacemaker’s Tim Meadows theorized to be a Martian in DCU
A theory circulating on Reddit speculates that Tim Meadows’ A.R.G.U.S. agent Langston Fleury is a Martian. The user who originated the speculation, Issakins, noted that this Martian isn’t necessarily the superhero Martian Manhunter / J’onn J’onzz, who is one of the founding members of the Justice League of America, but simply a member of his race.
“Starting this post with an apology if someone else has already brought this up!! And sorry if this is a stretch but I can’t stop thinking about it. Also spoiler tagging just in case,” Issakins shared. “I, like others I’ve seen posting, sort of believe the theory that Fleury is secretly a Martian. (I know some people think he’s specifically J’onn, but I’m really not sure, I think he’s just a Martian period).”
Issakins proceeded to note, while watching Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 6, they wondered whether Fleury was trying to read the thoughts of Frank Grillo’s Rick Flag Sr. during a scene featuring the characters. “I may have to rewatch the scene but he looked like he was focused on Flagg while staring at him so idk,” Issakins stated, adding, “Let me know if I’m crazy reaching or if anyone else had a similar thought because I’m just so curious.”
One of the most recognizable abilities of the Martians in DC Comics is telepathy. So, it makes sense that if Fleury is indeed a Martian, he would be trying to read someone else’s thoughts.
As Issakins mentioned, theories have been circulating for a few weeks that Fleury is indeed Martian Manhunter. We might get more clarity in the last two episodes of Peacemaker. If that doesn’t happen, future DCU projects can potentially shed light on the subject.
