Missouri Powerball Winner Fears Wife Will Drag Him ‘Out of Town Now’

A Missouri man who won the Powerball lottery is afraid that his $410 million winnings will change his lifestyle, though he still believes that is “the best problem I’ve ever had.” The man, who has chosen to remain anonymous, is one of two winners of the Powerball drawing on Saturday, September 6, 2025 that had a jackpot of over $1.78 billion. The identity of the other winning ticket holder from Texas is not yet known. Here’s how the man’s life will change after winning the Powerball.

How will the Missouri Powerball winner spend his $410 million?

The Missouri man who won the Powerball lottery has decided “to just do me for a year,” according to lottery officials, despite him now holding the record for receiving the largest prize ever by a lottery player in Missouri.

The self-described “homebody” says he has had many sleepless nights since he found out that he had a winning ticket. “The perfect day is sitting at home doing what I do – relaxing,” the Missouri winner said, but now he’s processing what has happened while doing seemingly mundane chores. “I’m a millionaire, a multi-millionaire, and I’m doing laundry last night.”

After winning the jackpot, the man is hoping to spend more time with his wife, who plans on working less due to the windfall. However, he fears that “she’s going to drag me out of town now.”

The Missouri Powerball player purchased his winning ticket from a QuikTrip in St. Louis, a store that will be receiving a $50,000 bonus for selling it. He, along with the Texas winner, had the option of receiving $893.5 million over 30 installments or taking a one-time payment of $410 million instead.

The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are exceedingly rare, just 1 in 292.2 million, so it’s surprising that there were two winners of the top prize this time around.
