It looks like Microsoft is trial-running a “Free Play Day” on Xbox Live for those with a Gold membership.
This news comes after a Twitter user spotted a few titles on the Xbox One’s Xbox Live Marketplace advertised as being part of the “Free Play Day.” When the user messaged Xbox Support asking for clarification of this, he received the following tweet:

Though it has yet to be confirmed by Microsoft, judging by the above image a Free Play Day would seemingly give users the chance to try out some of the Marketplace’s games for free, similar to the deals currently offered with the Games with Gold service but, presumably, with newer titles on offer. If that’s the case, that’s certainly a step in the right direction for Microsoft.
