As fans continue to push for a sequel to the Wayward series, actor Alyvia Alyn Lind has expressed her desire to return to the setup if a potential Season 2 materializes. Lind, who portrays the conflicted youngling Leila in the eight-episode mystery thriller, revealed in a recent interview that although she has no knowledge about the future of the show, she would “love to” come back if Netflix ultimately green-lights a follow-up installment.

While talking to The Direct‘s Russ Milheim, the 18-year-old actress not only emphasized her intentions of returning for a possible Wayward Season 2 but also explored the directions Leila could take in the sequel.
“I have, again, not heard anything. They don’t tell me anything,” Lind confessed, before adding, “If there’s anything in the future I want to be involved in, I’d love to. I think this story is so important, and I think that I would love to see where Mae sees it going.”
She continued, “This cast and crew and everybody involved in making this project are just so incredible. So again, anything with this involves, sign me up.”
Originally envisioned as a limited series, the sheer number of unresolved questions and character arcs in Wayward has led viewers to pursue a Season 2. Case in point: Leila’s fate towards the end of the hit Netflix show.
Despite agreeing to flee Tall Pines alongside Abbie, Leila experiences a last-minute change of heart after she remembers what awaits her at her home. As such, she decides to return to the devious academy, causing fans to wonder about her fate.
“I mean, there are so many different possibilities for Leila at this point. I mean, maybe seeing her become Evelyn, like, maybe seeing her come into like a vicious tyrant,” Alyvia Alyn Lind said of Leila’s potential evolution in Wayward Season 2. She also noted that her character could instead turn into a version of Stacey or even Laura in the sequel season.
Despite all the speculations and encouraging comments from cast members, Netflix has yet to share an official word on Wayward Season 2.
