Sadie Sink’s MCU Future Report Might Excite Many X-Men & Marvel Fans

As rumors about Sadie Sink‘s role as Jean Grey in Spider-Man: Brand New Day and the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) continue circulating, a new one has surfaced. It allegedly gives some more clarity about her future within the superhero franchise. Although Sink is speculated to be playing the telepathic X-Men mutant, neither she nor Marvel Studios has officially confirmed her role.

Sadie Sink rumored Jean Grey could be Marvel’s ‘main character’ in Mutant Saga

Notable scooper MyTimetoShineHello shared on X (formerly Twitter) that Sadie Sink’s Jean Grey would be the “main character” of the next MCU saga, expected to revolve around mutants, including the X-Men.

However, this is nothing more than a rumor as of writing. While Sink will reportedly appear in Avengers: Secret Wars after debuting in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, her MCU future beyond that film is uncertain.

Marvel has been slowly planting the seeds for the Mutant Saga in its current one, which focuses on the multiverse. The Disney+ series Ms. Marvel revealed in its conclusion that the titular protagonist was a mutant. Meanwhile, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever confirmed Tenoch Huerta’s Namor’s mutant status.

The above rumor emerged shortly after the scooper claimed that Sink had signed a 5-movie deal with Marvel Studios, which includes the option for television show appearances. It also came after industry insider Jeff Sneider revealed on The Hot Mic podcast that he could say she was playing Jean Grey.

Marvel is currently making an X-Men film set within the MCU. Jake Schreier, who helmed Thunderbolts*, is directing it. Development began in August 2025, which the filmmaker confirmed in an Empire interview, while also describing the process as “very, very exciting.”

Meanwhile, Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings into theaters on July 31, 2026. Destin Daniel Cretton helmed the movie. Tom Holland stars as Peter Parker/Spider-Man alongside a supporting cast that includes Zendaya as MJ, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher, Tramell Tillman as Bill, Michael Mando as Mac Gargan/Scorpion, Marvin Jones III as Lonnie Lincoln/Tombstone, and Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk.
