UK-based activist group Led By Donkeys released footage showing its members approaching Larry Ellison’s yacht and placing the label “The Trump Propagandist” on it. The group stated that the action was meant to protest what it described as Ellison’s influence on political messaging.
In the footage (via Al Jazeera), the group is seen approaching the yacht in the French Riviera using a speedboat before placing a large label on the vessel. The text on the label read, “The Trump Propagandist.”
“We tracked down the superyacht owned by the world’s sixth-richest man. Larry Ellison won’t like what we did to it,” the group said in a statement accompanying the video.
Larry Ellison, one of the world’s wealthiest individuals, has been publicly associated with Donald Trump and has made financial contributions to political causes.
Some activist groups have alleged that Ellison has used his influence in ways that affect media narratives. These claims have not been independently verified. Through aggressive acquisitions, Ellison and his company have been seemingly aiming to grab more and more of the media share. Activists have labelled his present run as an attempt at “media monopoly.”
This comes as the USA remains engaged in the conflict with Iran.
