Corey Lewandowski, who has been the subject of longstanding allegations regarding a relationship with former DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, is reportedly leaving his role as a special government employee. This comes amid renewed scrutiny following recent photographs of the two together during a meeting with the U.S. Embassy in Guyana.
Corey Lewandowski reportedly out of government after new photo
Following the recently surfaced photographs of Corey Lewandowski and Kristi Noem together during her meeting with the U.S. Embassy in Guyana, Lewandowski is reportedly set to depart from his role as a special government employee (via The Independent).
The photos brought back the allegations of the pair having an affair on taxpayers’ money, perhaps leading to the decision. Three sources have reportedly told The New York Post that Lewandowski will leave his post following the latest developments. Two additional sources claimed that President Donald Trump may have pushed Lewandowski out following decisions related to a $220 million ad campaign featuring Noem. These claims have not been independently confirmed.
Noem was removed from her role at the Department of Homeland Security in early March but has remained associated with the Trump administration in other capacities. She was later reassigned as a special envoy to The Shield of the Americas.
Allegations regarding a relationship between Noem and Lewandowski have circulated for several years. Both have denied these claims. During a White House hearing, Noem referred to the allegations as “tabloid garbage.”
The House Judiciary Committee questioned Noem earlier this month, asking, “At any time during you tenure as director of the Department of Homeland Security, have you had sexual relations with Corey Lewandowski?” Noem responded, “I am shocked we are going down and peddling tabloid garbage today at this committee.”
Meanwhile, the recent photos have prompted reactions on social media platforms, including X, where users commented on the situation.
