Nicole Kidman and Simon Baker are reportedly just “good friends” despite romance rumors. The media and netizens began scrutinizing the nature of their relationship after the two actors were spotted holding hands at the red carpet premiere of their show in New York City on March 3.
As per The Sun, the duo was seen cozying up to one another at the afterparty. A source shared with the outlet, “Nicole and Simon’s closeness is definitely the talk of the town right now. They’re incredible together on screen and when you see them together in real life, that chemistry clearly wasn’t faked.” The source added, “At the after-party they stayed close all night and were deep in conversation.”
However, another source revealed to Page Six that the romance rumors between Kidman and Baker aren’t true. The insider claimed, “This is absolutely false. They’ve known each other for years and are good friends. That is it.”
Interestingly, Kidman is friends with Baker’s ex-wife, fellow Australian actress Rebecca Rigg. She is also godmother to Baker and Rigg’s son. Kidman and Baker previously worked together in the 2022 TV series Roar, again as a married couple.
At the time, the Holland actress discussed their on-screen chemistry and kissing. She said, “I didn’t find it weird. We’ve kissed on the cheek before. We’ve hugged a lot. We’ve lived in the same house. And you know, the woman I grew up with, he was married to for a substantial part of his life… 29 years, so we are just the same person.”
Kidman was first married to Tom Cruise from 1990 to 2001. The Moulin Rouge star then found love with country musician Keith Urban, and the pair got married in 2006 and divorced in 2026.
