Donald Trump recently went on to suggest that he has better health than the US presidents who came before him. Trump made the statement during the annual Shamrock Bowl Presentation. The Shamrock Bowl Presentation is a tradition held in honor of St Patrick’s Day, which was on March 17, 2026.

Donald Trump talks about his health and former doctor’s comment

Donald Trump was recently at the White House for the Shamrock Bowl Presentation on St Patrick’s Day, when he stated that his health is better than that of the previous US presidents.

Trump, along with the Taoiseach (Prime Minister)of Ireland, Micheál Martin, was present for the tradition when he made the claim. According to a report by the Daily Beast, he seemingly referred to the statements made by American physician and politician Ronny Jackson and stated, “I’ll never forget, they said, ‘Who’s the healthiest president?’ Because he covered (Barack) Obama. He covered some others—I don’t want to say who. And Trump. He said ‘By far Trump. There’s nobody even close.’”

In January 2018, Jackson made similar claims regarding Trump’s health. According to NPR, in a White House briefing in 2018, Jackson, who was also the former physician of Trump, conveyed that the US President has great genes and, on a healthier diet than usual, he might go on to live up to 200 years of age. He also claimed that Trump was “very sharp.”

Following these statements, in April 2018, Jackson was accused by many members of the White House of drinking while on duty and also prescribing medication without proper documentation. Coming to his defense, Trump wrote on X that the allegations made by the White House members are nothing but false. He added that the Secret Services have also identified that the charges have gravely affected Jackson and his family.
