Robert Pattinson’s Therapist Thought He Was High in His First Session

Robert Pattinson is known for his captivating performances, but in a recent interview, he opened up about his experiences with therapy. In a refreshing reveal, the Twilight star shared that his therapist mistook him for being high during their first session. The anecdote has left fans amazed as well as curious about Pattinson’s journey towards mental wellness.

Robert Pattinson’s first therapy session involved a question about drugs

In a recently published conversation with Zendaya for Interview Magazine, Robert Pattinson playfully lamented the difficulty of expressing himself, showcasing his self-aware humor. His struggles with expression ultimately lead to a refreshingly honest revelation about seeking therapy.

The Twilight star’s initial therapy session took an unexpected turn when the therapist asked about drug abuse. The misunderstanding stemmed from the actor’s inability to verbalize his thoughts clearly. “I went to therapy once and the therapist asked me if I was on drugs because they couldn’t understand what I was talking about. I was like, ‘I’m trying my best,'” the 39-year-old said. Showcasing his self-deprecating humor, he added, “I thought I was going somewhere. I got on the boat and I was like— … ‘I want to get off now!’”

The Interview Magazine conversation also witnesses Pattinson confessing to feeling intimidated by articulate speakers due to his own vulnerability. “I was listening to a podcast yesterday with a director, and when I hear someone who’s eloquent, it makes me really angry. I felt inspired by thinking that eloquence is a kind of classist act,” the Mickey 17 actor admitted. “I was like, there’s something honest about not being able to express yourself. It’s proletarian to not be able to say anything.”

Pattinson and Zendaya are set to sizzle on screen in the upcoming romantic comedy film The Drama. Produced by A24 and directed by Kristoffer Borgli, the movie will hit theaters on April 3. They’re also in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, releasing July 17. Furthermore, Pattinson will also join Zendaya in Dune: Part Three, where she will help him navigate Arrakis.
