The rumor started when people online discovered that Jeffrey Epstein had a YouTube account with the username “littlestjeff1” and an email confirming he had bought V-Bucks, Fortnite’s in-game currency. They also found a Fortnite profile with the same username, which had been active recently, sparking speculation that Epstein might be alive and gaming.
However, Fortnite’s official X (formerly Twitter) account has put out a statement confirming that it was not Jeffrey Epstein gaming on the platform. “Hey Official Fortnite here – this was a ruse by a Fortnite player,” the post read. A few days ago, an existing Fortnite account owner changed their username from something totally unrelated to littlestjeff1, following the revelation of littlestjeff1 as a name on YouTube.”
Fortnite’s clarification from Epic Games sparked mixed reactions online. While a section of netizens accepted it, others are still clinging to the conspiracy theory. “I never expected a tweet from Fortnite clarifying something like this,” wrote an X user. “Yeah I don’t know why people thought it was real,” a tweet read. “You didn’t have to post this, it wasn’t necessary but by posting this you made it more certain that something is definitely up. People aren’t dumb,” reasoned another. “Nice coverup, shows us the data or you’re compromised,” echoed a Twitterati member.
