If you are looking for a new burger to try, KFC has got you covered, but only if you live in the UK and Ireland. The fast food chain has announced the launch of a new limited-time item, called the “Cheesy Melt Burger,” and described it as a twist on the classic cheeseburger that fans have grown to love.
New KFC ‘cheesy melt’ burger is here, but US fans are out of luck
KFC fans finally have the chance to enjoy their favorite fried chicken in a burger, along with extra cheese. Unfortunately for people in the United States, the item will only be available in locations across the UK and Ireland. The fried chicken giant has confirmed that the new release will last only six weeks, from February 9 to March 22. The item will be available at participating outlets, and fans can also order it through delivery platforms.
The “Cheesy Melt Burger” swaps beef for fried chicken fillet. So, the burger will feature an Original Recipe fillet, a crispy hash brown, lettuce, and onion chutney. The highlight of the item is the pot of Hot Cheese Sauce. Customers can add the cheese according to their taste. The burger alone costs £7.99. Those interested in extra cheese can also buy extra portions of the cheese sauce for £1.99. Further, a mealbox is priced at £10.49.
Dani Ruggles, marketing manager for KFC UK and Ireland, addressed this new addition to the menu (via Metro). He said, “With the Cheesy Melt, we are listening to our fans. We know that right now, they’re not just going crazy for cheese, but cheese you can dip, dunk, and even pour exactly how you want. Our delicious Hot Cheese Sauce puts them in control of just how cheesy they want their meal to get.”
The fried chicken giant announced the launch of the burger with an Instagram post. The short video showed a man wearing a rat mask holding a flamethrower in one hand and the new burger in the other. As the clip progresses, he begins wreaking havoc with the flamethrower, claiming that he likes his cheese “DRIPPY.”
