Karen Huger discusses her time in prison in new episode of Real Housewives of Potomac

In a sneak peek clip of the upcoming The Real Housewives of Potomac episode, Karen Huger returns home to her family. In an emotional reunion, the Huger family embraces each other and welcomes Karen with a heartfelt and subtle “Welcome Home” sign.

After embracing everyone, they sat down for a quick chat. During their conversation, Karen explained that she encountered many “young girls” in prison, serving their sentence. While she felt bad for them, she admitted that she was able to teach them a few things.

She said, “I was able to reach a few of them. I was like, ‘It took me six decades to get here. Why are you here at 20? What are you doing?’” She admitted that she found a “purpose,” helping those young girls. “So, I found purpose. I found a purpose, and I’m happy with it. I’ll talk to you about it later,” the 62-year-old explained.

Karen also had encouraging words for her daughter, Rayvin. She said, “I couldn’t have done it. I couldn’t have done it without you. I love the woman that you’ve become. I never intended for you to see me like that, but I’m glad you did. Because there’s a truth and a strength in that.” She then praised her sister, Bridget, who “stepped in” in her absence, adding that their mother would be “proud” of her.

In March 2024, authorities arrested and charged Karen with DUI and DWI, and a few other charges, following a car crash in Potomac, Maryland. Later that year, in December, the Maryland jury found Karen guilty, while acquitting her of reckless driving (via PEOPLE).

The judge sentenced her to two years in prison, with one year suspended, and imposed a $2,900 fine along with five years of supervised probation (via LA Times). However, she was released early after serving only six months in September 2025.

The complete episode, titled “Karen Comes Home,” will air on February 1, 2026.
