Golden Globes 2026: Timothée Chalamet Thanks Shark Tank’s Mr. Wonderful

Timothée Chalamet’s first Golden Globe win felt like a full-circle win. When he walked up to accept the trophy for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, he looked back at all the times he came close but didn’t quite get there. He cracked jokes, thanked a surprise “costar,” and gave a quiet, heartfelt nod to the people who matter most to him.

What Timothée Chalamet said during his Golden Globes acceptance speech

After picking up the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy for Marty Supreme, Chalamet thanked “Mr. Wonderful from Shark Tank,” which instantly cracked up the room. He joked that if someone had told his 19-year-old self he’d one day be thanking a Shark Tank star on a Golden Globes stage, he would’ve never believed it.

The moment wasn’t just a random gag. Chalamet was talking about Kevin O’Leary, his Marty Supreme costar, who plays rich power player Milton Rockwell in the A24 film. Outside the movie world, O’Leary is famous for his no-filter investor persona on Shark Tank. “If you would have told me when I was 19 years old, I’d be thanking Mr. Wonderful from Shark Tank?” Chalamet said. “All right, you’re laughing, so I got away with that” (via EW).

Things got a little more grounded when Chalamet shifted from jokes to his personal world. Without naming names, the Dune alum thanked his partner, Kylie Jenner, saying, “I Love You.” He’d done the same gesture at Critics’ Choice Awards too, where he openly showed love for the steady support he’s had off-screen.

Chalamet also looked back at the long road that led to this win. Before this night, the Golden Globes had passed him by four times, despite nods for Call Me By Your Name, Beautiful Boy, Wonka, and A Complete Unknown.

Instead of sounding salty, Chalamet shared advice from his dad. The latter told him to “always be grateful for what you have.” That mindset, he said, helped him leave past ceremonies feeling proud of the journey, even when he didn’t walk out with the prize. “I’d be lying if I didn’t say those moments didn’t make this moment that much sweeter,” the actor shared.
