Steven Lawrence claims he was fired from Universal job for exposing a pedophile

Steven Anthony Lawrence, a former Disney Channel star, has alleged that Universal Studios Hollywood fired him after he reported a “suspected pedophile.”

Lawrence, who rose to prominence as Bernard “Beans” Aranguren on Even Stevens, made the allegation public in an Instagram post shared on Saturday, January 3. According to him, he raised concerns internally about an incident involving an individual he believed posed a risk to children. He claims his report ultimately led to his dismissal.

In his statement, the 35-year-old said he waited weeks before speaking publicly, hoping the matter could be handled privately. He wrote, “I delayed posting this for about a month because I was hoping we could find some sort of amicable solution, because I absolutely loved performing and dancing with all you amazing people.”

Lawrence alleged that his termination decision involved both a supervisor and a representative from the company’s human resources department. However, he did not provide specific details about the alleged incident or identify the individual involved.

The Disney Channel alum added, “With what I know, I WILL NEVER ALLOW MY KID TO GO TO UNIVERSAL STUDIOS HOLLYWOOD. Be safe, everyone.” The allegation prompted swift reactions online, with some fans and former colleagues expressing support for Lawrence’s decision to speak out.

Universal Studios Hollywood responded to the claims in a statement issued to media outlets, including PEOPLE. A company spokesperson said,  “We have investigated and reviewed the concerns brought forward by this former employee, and they were found to be inaccurate and without merit.”
