Doomsday Rumor: Avengers To Be Betrayed by a Traitor

Speculation around Avengers: Doomsday has intensified following a new rumor claiming the film may include a traitor among the Avengers themselves. With Doctor Doom already confirmed as the central antagonist, the speculation of an internal betrayal has sparked new discussion. However, Marvel Studios has not confirmed any such plot development.

Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday continues to generate speculation as new rumors suggest the upcoming film may include a traitor within heroes. As of now, the details about the project remain limited. However, the possibility of an internal conflict would represent a shift from past Avengers films.

The latest rumor originated from renowned scooper Alex Perez of The Cosmic Circus. He recently responded to a fan question about whether Doctor Doom might turn Steve Rogers into a Hydra-style Captain America.

The fan wrote, “What if Steve Rogers is turned into Captain Hydra by Victor Von Doom?” Perez replied with a brief response, “Wrong traitor.” His comment has been interpreted by fans as a hint that a different Avenger could betray the team.

This is in sharp contrast to the previous movies in the franchise, which featured clear external threats. The Avengers follows the formation of the team to stop Loki, Avengers: Age of Ultron centers on the consequences of Tony Stark’s failed artificial intelligence experiment, Infinity War focuses on the battle to prevent Thanos from collecting the Infinity Stones, and Endgame revolves around reversing the devastation caused by his snap.

It is important to note that Perez’s comment was vague and open to interpretation. As with many early reports surrounding major MCU projects, the information currently circulating remains unverified rumor. 

Meanwhile, Marvel has confirmed Doctor Doom as the primary villain. The film has also been linked through rumors to themes involving family and parental dynamics. Beyond those, little is known about the central storyline. Avengers: Doomsday is currently scheduled to arrive in theaters on December 18, 2026.
