Blumhouse has closed out 2025 with a significant box office achievement. The studio has crossed the $1 billion mark worldwide and set a new record in its history. This marks the first time in Blumhouse’s 25-year history that it has reached this milestone.
Blumhouse’s horror movies make over $1 billion at global box office in 2025
Blumhouse has recorded its strongest year at the box office to date, with the studio’s 2025 horror releases collectively crossing the $1 billion mark at the global box office. The figure represents the first time in the company’s 25-year history that its films have reached the milestone in a single calendar year.
Deadline reported that Blumhouse and its subsidiary, Atomic Monster, have generated approximately $1.022 billion worldwide from their combined 2025 slate. The total includes revenue from ten films distributed throughout the year, highlighting the continued strength of franchise-driven horror.
The year’s strongest performer was Atomic Monster’s The Conjuring: Last Rites, which led the slate with $494.6 million in global ticket sales. Blumhouse followed with Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, which has generated $201.8 million so far and is still playing in theaters. Other releases added meaningful contributions, including Black Phone 2 ($132.1 million), The Monkey ($68.8 million), and M3GAN 2.0 ($39 million).
While not every release matched up to expectations, the company’s overall slate proved to be highly profitable. The combined productions were made on reported budgets totaling $204 million before marketing costs, highlighting the studio’s cost-efficient approach to franchise-driven horror.
The achievement comes just over a year after Blumhouse and Atomic Monster finalized their merger in January 2024. Their previous best year arrived in 2023, when Blumhouse titles such as M3GAN, Insidious: The Red Door, Five Nights at Freddy’s, and The Black Phone amassed $821.9 million worldwide. Meanwhile, Atomic Monster releases added significant revenue of their own with the release of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and The Nun II.
Looking ahead, the studios are preparing for a major release schedule that includes projects such as The Mummy, a sixth Insidious installment, Other Mommy, Obsession, and Mortal Kombat II.
