Jake Paul Says ‘People Need to Shut the F*** Up’ Amid Rigged Fight Allegations

Jake Paul defended himself against the accusation of rigging his upcoming fight with Anthony Joshua. This comes days after a news article, in which Deontay Wilder said that he believes that Paul’s fight could be “scripted.”

Jake Paul responds to rigged fight allegations

During a press conference on December 17, Jake Paul addressed the rumors about rigging his fight. “I give them a cease and desist letter in their email for lying on my name,” the professional boxer responded. “The lawsuits are coming right after because these people won’t stop lying.”

The YouTuber continued, “I honestly take it as a compliment, but people need to shut the f*** up. And Deontay Wilder, you know, he’s been hit a lot by Tyson Fury, so he’s clearly not the smartest guy.” Paul further defended, “There’s nothing in the contract—[Anthony Joshua] can attest to it. We’re going to war, and at the end of the day, that’s how all my fights have been like.”

Joshua agreed with Paul, saying, “Yeah, there’s nothing in the contract.’

Paul’s response comes days after the world heavyweight champion, Deontay Wilder, sat for an interview with Daily Mail Sport. During the interview, Wilder expressed his opinion, saying, “I think the fight is scripted.”

Wilder added, “I think his [Paul’s] fights in general have been scripted before. That’s just my strong opinion. It could be what it is, and what we see is what we get. But I really think it’s scripted, you know.”

“Now, this ain’t nothing like before when we had the Tyson fight, of course,” he further reasoned. “When you looked at that fight, you just thought of it as a fun one. You had a legend of the sport in there and was taking on a YouTuber, it was a good one. A fun fight. This is different.”

On December 19, Jake Paul is going up against two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua. The professional heavyweight bout, titled “Judgement Day,” will take place at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida. The fight will stream exclusively on Netflix at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
