Jake Paul teases a potential return to the boxing ring in a new social media post. Paul has stayed away from boxing after his highly anticipated fight with Anthony Joshua. The fight took place on December 19 at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida. Joshua knocked out Paul in the sixth round of the fight and left him to deal with a broken jaw.
Jake Paul posts new video sparking boxing ring return rumors
Jake Paul sparks boxing ring return rumors with a not-so-subtle tweet on X. Paul shared a video of himself boxing enthusiastically. He wrote in the caption, “You won’t expect this one hahahaha. Announcement coming in two days March 18.” Unsurprisingly, the post garnered 2.5K likes, 777 comments, 212 retweets, and 158 bookmarks.
Interestingly, on March 15, Paul penned the cryptic lines, “Most fighters spend more time on Instagram than in the gym. And people wonder why they lose.” This was accompanied by the hashtag undefeated. Paul was initially supposed to fight against lightweight champion Gervonta Davis.
However, Davis dropped out of the fight, and Joshua replaced him and handed a brutal defeat to Paul. At the time, Paul remarked, “I think my jaw is broken, by the way. Man, that was good. Nice little a** whooping from one of the best to ever do it. I love this s***, and I’m going to come back and get a world championship belt.”
At the Ronda Rousey-Gina Carano press conference on March 10, Paul explained his current health situation and when fans can see him in action. He said, “I got my second surgery recently, and the doctor said it will be four, five, or six months to even be able to spar to see how the bone is healing. So that puts us maybe late this year or early next year for a fight.” (SI.com).
A couple of months back in December, Paul’s manager, Nakisa Bidarian, teased that global MMA superstar Conor McGregor could be his opponent. He hinted, “I have the perfect idea. We do the MMA fight with Jake and Conor [McGregor], and then we do the boxing match with Jake and Conor.”
