Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky tied the knot in 2010 and have become one of the “It” couples in Hollywood. In his recent appearance on the “On Purpose with Jay Shetty” podcast, he shared insights into his marriage. “Both having a sort of adventurous spirit, making time for one another,” the actor said.
He explained that “complicated times” in their relationship were when both were only focused on either work or their three kids. “All of a sudden the ‘us’ in the relationship is sort of non-existent,” Hemsworth added. He mentioned that he and his wife would be busy with work all day and would focus on the kids when they’re home. But they reportedly learned to make “space for each other rather than the rest of the world, [which] can be so all-consuming.”
Listening to the 42-year-old Hollywood star’s experience, host Jay Shetty sympathized, saying that it would have been “so hard” for the couple. However, Hemsworth pointed out that it has been the “same” for every married pair in the world. “It’s all relative. Yeah, it’s challenging, but we also have an opportunity to make it work,” the “Thor” star corrected.
Moreover, the father of three stated that a relationship grows stronger if there’s “adventure,” “curiosity,” “humor,” and “openness” between partners. According to him, “friendship and companionship” seemed to be the major factors for a happy marriage.
For those unversed, Hemsworth and Pataky have three children: a daughter, India Rose, and twin sons, Sasha and Tristan.
