Donald Trump’s recent comments on Rob Reiner’s death have drawn much backlash on the internet, with Arnold Schwarzenegger’s son, Patrick Schwarzenegger, also chiming in to voice his opinion on the matter. He shared his disapproval of the U.S. President’s remarks on the tragic passing of the acclaimed director, going as far as to label his statement as “disgusting.”
Patrick Schwarzenegger calls out Donald Trump’s statement
On December 15, The White Lotus star took to social media to condemn the POTUS’ comments on the death of Rob Reiner.
The son of the legendary action superstar Arnold Schwarzenegger, Patrick, shared a screenshot of Donald Trump’s Monday morning comments on X (formerly Twitter). The caption read, “What a disgusting and vile statement.”
In his ‘tribute’ to the late director on Truth Social, Trump singled out The Princess Bride director for harboring opposing political views. He initially expressed sorrow regarding Reiner’s death before quickly switching his tone and noting that the latter died “reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS.”
The Republican Party veteran further added, “He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness, and with the Golden Age of America upon us, perhaps like never before. May Rob and Michele rest in peace!”
Notably, Rob Reiner was a Democratic Party supporter who never shied away from criticizing Donald Trump and his administration on the public podium. The U.S. President’s insensitive remarks about Reiner and his wife, Michele, have since garnered intense backlash from the general public and celebrities alike.
Aside from Patrick Schwarzenegger, Jimmy Kimmel has also called out the businessman-turned-politician for his distasteful comments.
