Amanda Seyfried and Sydney Sweeney recently appeared at Vanity Fair’s “Lie Detector Test,” where Seyfried defended her co-star in an unexpected way over her TikTok comments. The actors are currently on a press tour for their upcoming movie, “The Housemaid,” which will hit theatres on December 19.
Amanda Seyfried defends Sydney Sweeney during a lie detector test
Sydney Sweeney was recently on the hot seat of Vanity Fair’s “Lie Detector Test,” where she answered some interesting questions about her co-star, Amanda Seyfried. During the Thursday, December 11 episode of the show, when the “Anyone But You” star was asked if she is on TikTok, the actress said, “yes,” but denied being “addicted” to the social media platform.
It turned out the actress was speaking the truth as the polygraph operator said Sweeney was being “truthful.” The 40-year-old Seyfried then asked her co-star if she had a “For You Page” and what she had on the page, and that’s when things took a turn. Sweeney replied, “that depends” on what TikTok she is on.
“If I’m on my private TikTok, my entire for you page is history facts and arts and crafts,” said Sweeney. “And then if I’m on my Syd’s Garage Page, it’s sadly a lot of hate about me.” Sweeney’s reply surprised Seyfried, who ended up expressing her displeasure with “bad stuff” by saying, “F*** TikTok,” not once but twice after the polygraph operator revealed she was telling the “truth.”
This is not the only time when Seyfried has shown her protective side towards her co-star. While speaking to Who What Wear in an interview, the star admitted that Sweeney “got it so much harder than I ever did — not even close.” “She’s got a spotlight on her that I never had, never wanted. I can’t help but feel somewhat protective of her, though she doesn’t need my protection,” she noted.
