Zachery Ty Bryan arrested in Oregon, claims report

Home Improvement alum Zachery Ty Bryan was taken into custody in Eugene, Oregon, on November 29, for allegedly violating the probation tied to his previous domestic violence conviction. According to Lane County Jail records, Bryan is being held without bail and is scheduled for release on Wednesday, December 3 (via People).

Bryan’s fiancée, Johnnie Faye Cartwright, was also arrested and booked at the same jail. Records show she faces five charges: one count of driving under the influence, three counts of reckless endangerment, and one count of attempted first-degree assault. As of November 30, Cartwright remained in custody. It is not yet known whether Bryan or Cartwright has obtained legal counsel.

The arrest is the latest in a series of legal incidents involving Zachery Ty Bryan. His most recent arrest before this one happened in January, when he was charged with second-degree domestic violence in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. According to a police report obtained by the outlet, a woman involved in that incident “stated that she was assaulted.” She claimed Bryan “choked her and punched her in the face multiple times.” She also told officers the two “live together and have children in common.” The woman was later identified as Cartwright, who shares three children with Bryan: daughter Kennedy and twins Parker and Sequoia.

Zachery Ty Bryan was also arrested twice earlier this year on DUI charges, once in February and again in October. In 2023, he faced charges including fourth-degree felony assault, third-degree robbery, and misdemeanor harassment. Lane County chief deputy district attorney Chris Parosa told the outlet that Bryan ultimately pleaded guilty to felony assault in the fourth degree, constituting domestic violence. Under a negotiated resolution, Bryan received a sentence of seven days in jail and 36 months of supervised probation. His probation is reportedly set to expire in October 2026.
