Colin Jost and Michael Che named their dream hosts for SNL. Their picks range from Hollywood stars to sports legends. The Weekend Update duo were at the Carolina Panthers vs. the San Francisco 49ers game. They named a few celebrities they would love to see take the Saturday Night Live stage for the first time.
Colin Jost and Michael Che list their choices for first-time SNL hosts
Michael Che, when asked about who he would appoint as a brand-new SNL host on ManningCast, aimed high on the Hollywood front. He said, “I would say Denzel Washington. I think Denzel, of all of the great movies that he’s done, we so rarely get to see him just be funny and silly. And he’s one of the greatest American actors. It would be really cool to see him finally do it once.”
Colin Jost also agreed with the idea of Washington and added that he is also a “great theatre actor.” Che continued, “He’s played down the block a ton of times, so it would be really cool to see what he does [on SNL] in a way that we’ve never seen him.”
As for Jost, he went in a sports direction while thinking of a host for SNL. Firstly, he named Tiger Woods and claimed that it would be “huge” to have him on Saturday Night Live. Then his second pick was Michael Jordan. He said, “I would also love if [Michael] Jordan ever came back, now that he’s doing some broadcast stuff for the NBA… That would be such a cool one.”
Jost picked yet another person. Continuing, he expressed, “Steph [Curry]. I think Steph’s never done it. Maybe there’s the right timing for him to do it. It’s the hardest with the NBA because they always have to be the first show of the year, or they can’t do it.”
Saturday Night Live has invited a bunch of successful industry stars on its show to be the hosts, and it continues to do so. Thus, Michael Che and Colin Jost’s choices for SNL fit right into the standard the programme has set for itself.
