How The Beast in Me Season 2 Is Possible Despite Limited Series Status

Netflix’s latest thriller, The Beast in Me, has already proven to be another hit for the streaming service and has fans curious about a Season 2. Recently, the show’s creator indicated that a second season could happen, but under two conditions. His remarks have prompted discussion among fans about where the story could go next.

Howard Gordon on if The Beast in Me Season 2 could happen

During a special screening of Netflix’s The Beast in Me, executive producer and showrunner Howard Gordon was asked whether the show could continue with a second season. The eight-episode thriller, which debuted on November 13, has already sparked speculation about future installments. 

Gordon spoke with PEOPLE on the red carpet ahead of the event, where he was asked about the there’s hope for a second season. He simply replied, “Always.” The showrunner went on to clarify that any continuation would depend on how the series performs and whether the team behind the series finds a good story to pursue.

Gordon elaborated, “We’ll see how the show does, and I would say if there’s a story, we would be open to it.”

Despite the interest surrounding a potential Season 2, Gordon noted that there are no concrete ideas for one at this stage. When asked whether he had begun brainstorming potential plot directions for a follow-up season, he said, “No, not yet. Well, to myself.”

The psychological thriller follows Aggie Wiggs, an author coping with personal loss. However, soon her attention turns to her new neighbor, Nile Jarvis, a real-estate mogul connected to the unsolved disappearance of his wife.

Claire Danes and Matthew Rhys lead the series as Aggie Wiggs and Nile Jarvis. The series’s other cast members include Brittany Snow as Nina Jarvis, Natalie Morales as Shelley, and David Lyons as Brian Abbott, among others.
