Orlando Bloom was spotted celebrating Halloween alongside Happy Death Day actress Rachel Lynn Matthews, and her choice of costume didn’t go unnoticed. Matthews dressed up as Katy Perry, the “Firework” singer and Bloom’s ex, recreating one of her most recent memorable looks.
In photos shared on Matthews’ Instagram Stories, Bloom appeared in a full skeleton costume, wrapping his arm around the actress. Meanwhile, Matthews sported a blue bodysuit and jet-black wig, mimicking Perry’s signature look from her Blue Origin space mission. The singer had famously traveled to the edge of space during an 11-minute flight earlier this year. In another photo, Matthews recreated Perry’s viral moment kissing the ground upon her return to Earth, captioning her post: “Take up space!”
The timing of the costume drew attention, as Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry had only recently gone their separate ways. Representatives for both confirmed the couple’s split in July. “Katy has every intention of maintaining a positive and respectful relationship with Orlando,” a source told People, adding, “He’s the father of their daughter, and that will always come first for her.”
The insider claimed that while they’ve “decided to go their separate ways,” there remains mutual respect between them. “They’re still very much in touch and co-parenting Daisy together. For the sake of their daughter, they’re committed to keeping things amicable.”
Though the couple kept details of their breakup private, Bloom briefly addressed the situation during an appearance on Today with Craig Melvin. When asked how he was doing after the split, Bloom responded, “I’m great, man. I’m so grateful.” He added warmly about their daughter, “We have the most beautiful daughter…And we’re great. We’re going to be great. Nothing but love.”
