Tensions have reportedly risen within the royal family following Prince William and Princess Kate’s involvement in discussions concerning former Prince Andrew’s royal standing. Sources suggest Queen Camilla is “fuming” over Middleton’s prominent role in matters linked to King Charles‘ decision to remove Andrew from his royal titles. Though Middleton has not yet ascended the throne, insiders claim the queen is keen to remind her who currently holds it.
Queen Camilla feels she and King Charles were ‘pushed aside’ in Prince Andrew issue, per source
According to Star, Queen Camilla is said to be frustrated over the way Prince William and Kate Middleton have taken the lead in discussions regarding former Prince Andrew’s royal status. Sources cited by the outlet claim that Camilla felt she and King Charles were “pushed aside” as the Prince and Princess of Wales became more involved in decisions surrounding Andrew’s removal of royal titles amid his past controversy.
The insider noted that this is not the first time the queen has suspected the couple of going behind her back. Camilla reportedly believes William and his wife “undermine the King’s authority” and exclude both her and the monarch from key royal matters by “holding private meetings with courtiers” and keeping them “out of the loop” on day-to-day affairs that concern the palace.
As per the news publication, Charles had assured his wife that she would have a role in royal decision-making. However, sources suggest that “it has become clear” that the Prince and Princess of Wales prefer to manage some major decisions independently. The source further claimed that the queen is being careful not to publicly oppose the Princess of Wales. However, she has urged her husband to “address the issue” and ensure that she is not treated as “a second-class citizen” within the royal household.
