Tensions appear to be rising once again behind the royal palace doors. According to multiple reports, King Charles III‘s patience with his younger brother, the former Prince Andrew, is wearing thin following the latest developments surrounding Andrew’s royal status. Sources close to the family claim the monarch has grown increasingly frustrated as he attempts to balance duty, public perception, and familial loyalty amid ongoing controversy.

On October 30, Buckingham Palace confirmed that King Charles had formally stripped his younger brother of all remaining royal titles and honors. The palace announced that Andrew, 65, would no longer be styled as “Prince” or hold the title “Duke of York.” From now on, he will be referred to as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

“His Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove the Style, Titles and Honors of Prince Andrew,” the statement read. The palace stated that the decision was made in light of ongoing concerns about the monarchy’s reputation.

Moreover, the announcement included changes to Andrew’s living arrangements. The BBC reported that he has been asked to vacate his longtime residence, the 30-room Royal Lodge in Windsor. He will now relocate to a smaller property on the Sandringham estate. The move, according to the palace, is being privately funded by the King himself.

While the official tone from Buckingham Palace was measured, insiders describe the brothers’ relationship as deeply strained. Royal commentator Helena Chard told Fox News that the King has been “thoroughly fed up” with Andrew for years. Chard said, “He can barely tolerate him due to his inappropriate behavior and fall from grace.” She added that their personalities could not be more different — “like chalk and cheese.”

The Royal commentator described Charles as disciplined, “sensitive,” and deeply focused on his royal duties. On the other hand, Andrew, once dubbed “the playboy prince,” is more impulsive and carefree. Those differences, she suggested, have only deepened with time.

Still, despite their apparent friction, royal experts believe King Charles remains bound by a promise to their late mother, Queen Elizabeth II, to look after his younger brother. The King’s latest decision, though firm, appears to reflect both duty and restraint.
