Jennifer Aniston Faces Risk of Being Banned From the Met Gala — Source

Jennifer Aniston’s Met Gala statement seemed to have been blown out of proportion. According to a source, Vogue allegedly did not find her honesty “cute,” which may affect her future invitations to the prestigious event.

The news came after the “Friends” alum said in an interview that she was a “jeans and flip-flops and tank top kind of girl.” Moreover, attending these occasions “overwhelms” her. Her comment reportedly didn’t sit well with Anna Wintour, who has been overseeing the Met Gala for decades.

Jennifer Aniston might be quietly be iced out from Met Gala, say sources

Jennifer Aniston’s opinion on the Met Gala has caught negative attention. Sources from the fashion industry told Rob Shuter that Anna Wintour, the former editor-in-chief of Vogue, had reportedly not found the actress’s “honesty cute.” According to them, the current global chief content officer of Condé Nast “takes note” if anyone “diminishes” the gala.

“[Wintour] grudges are couture — tailored to fit and worn forever,” one fashion executive stated. Referring to the Primetime Emmy winner’s statement, another insider warned not to call the Met Gala “stressful.” “It’s the Sistine Chapel of style,” they said.

Many people linked to Vogue pointed out that Aniston’s words might impact her future invites. According to a style strategist, the “Morning Show” star might have thought that skipping the ceremony was “her choice.” After publicly admitting the reason, she might “soon learn otherwise.”

However, a Vogue veteran claimed that Aniston would seemingly not be iced out, giving an example of The Kardashians. Allegedly, the socialite family went through something similar, but they have still been invited to the gala every year.

Earlier, the 56-year-old Hollywood bombshell gave an interview with her co-stars to Glamour for the magazine’s September cover. She was asked whether she had been invited to the Met Gala because the celebrity had never attended the fashion industry’s biggest event. In response, she said that she has often been invited, but walking on that red carpet “overwhelms her.”

Furthermore, the Golden Globe winner stated that she is more of a “jeans and flip-flops and tank top kind of girl.” “Everyone’s there to celebrate each other and have some fun, but I get nervous,” she added.
