Ahead of the debut of All’s Fair, the stars, Glenn Close, Kim Kardashian, Naomi Watts, Sarah Paulson, Teyana Taylor, and Niecy Nash, sat down for an interview with PEOPLE. Amidst various interesting topics, the group moved to discuss Teyana Taylor’s Oscar nod.

Taylor mentioned she was out of town, but Paulson responded with, “It’s because you were busy getting ready to get nominated for an Oscar.” Oh my god,” Taylor said shyly, but Paulson continued teasing her, switching to Gen Z slang (via Parade).

Paulson asked, “What is it?” before figuring it out. She continued, “Ate! Ate! Ate! Chop! Chop!” with hand signals. She dropped another term, “clock-it.” Throughout this conversation, where the others threw words like “ate” and “clock it,” Glenn Close appeared completely lost.

The iconic actress could be seen looking around rather aimlessly, mimicking some hand signs, but evidently lost in a very relatable way. “I have no idea what you’re talking about,” she finally said after the initial moment of buffering. Paulson reassured her, “I know. But I’m gonna tell you later and you’re gonna be very excited about it.”

This clip has gone viral since many could relate to Close’s reaction to Gen Z slang.

All’s Fair is a legal drama show helmed by Ryan Murphy. Other cast memebers include Niecy Nash, Elizabeth Berkley, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and many more.

All’s Fair will premiere on November 4, 2025, on Hulu.
