Breaking Bad Creator Describes New Show as Biggest Project of His Career

Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan is set to return with a bold new project titled Pluribus. His upcoming Apple TV+ series is described as a genre-bending sci-fi drama starring Better Call Saul’s Rhea Seehorn. With a strong shift from his earlier work, Gilligan describes the show as “bigger than anything” he has made before.

Vince Gilligan says he ‘couldn’t have made’ Pluribus 10 years ago

Vince Gilligan, best known for creating Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, is set to make his return with Pluribus, a new Apple TV+ series.

The upcoming nine-episode drama stars Better Call Saul alum Rhea Seehorn as Carol Sturka. She is described as “the most miserable person on Earth.” She faces the unlikely challenge of saving the world from happiness. While much of the plot remains under wraps, the series appears to be quite different from Gilligan’s previous work.

In a recent conversation with GamesRadar+, Gilligan reflected on the scale of his latest series. He said, “I know, 10 years ago, I couldn’t have made this show. Because this show is bigger than anything I’ve ever made before.” He emphasized that the production spans multiple countries, noting that years of experience have prepared him and his team to take on something of this magnitude.

Gilligan said, “The scope of it is globetrotting, world-spanning.” He added, “I think we’ve learned – my producers and I, together – to be better producers over the years… The size of this thing is not something we would have attempted or could have succeeded at maybe five or 10 years ago.”

Starring Rhea Seehorn alongside Karolina Wydra, Carlos Manuel Vesga, and many others, Pluribus is being co-produced by Apple TV and Sony Pictures Television. The nine-episode series will premiere globally on Apple TV+ on November 7, 2025, with the first two episodes releasing together. They will be followed by weekly installments until December 26.
