It Series Rumor Reveals When Bill Skarsgård’s Pennywise Will Appear

A recent report has hinted at when audiences can expect Bill Skarsgård’s return as Pennywise in It: Welcome to Derry. Although the series premiere did not feature the clown, new details suggest his appearance will come later in the season. The update has sparked curiosity among fans eager to see Skarsgård’s portrayal of Pennywise.

It: Welcome to Derry rumor teases when Pennywise appears

The first episode of It: Welcome to Derry premiered without any appearance from Bill Skarsgård’s Pennywise, leaving viewers curious about when the character will return. A new report has now suggested when audiences can expect to see the clown.

According to industry insider Daniel Richtman, Skarsgård’s Pennywise is expected to make his debut in the fifth episode of the season. Given that It: Welcome to Derry consists of eight episodes, the character will be featured in the latter half of the show. The delay in Pennywise’s reveal appears to be intentional, allowing the story to build anticipation. On the other hand, Skarsgård’s busy production schedule could have also influenced the decision.

Executive producer Barbara Muschietti earlier emphasized in an interview with ScreenRant that from the beginning, the focus is placed on portraying Pennywise as a “very unpredictable character.” Meanwhile, showrunner Brad Caleb Kane further shared that the new series will explore more of the creature’s “other forms.”

Set within Stephen King’s It universe, the series is based on King’s novel and expands upon Andy Muschietti’s It and It Chapter Two. It explores Derry’s sinister past and the origins of its evil. The first episode concluded with an unexpected twist as several children were killed by “It.”

The series is now streaming on HBO Max, with new episodes releasing weekly leading up to the season finale on December 14. Skarsgård reprises his role as Pennywise and also serves as an executive producer on the show. The other cast members include Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Stephen Rider, and Rudy Mancuso.
