Travis Kelce just added another touchdown to his Hall of Fame career. In Monday night’s 28–7 win over the Washington Commanders, the Kansas City Chiefs’ star tight end made NFL history, with Taylor Swift once again cheering from the stands.
Travis Kelce created another history with major touchdown
Late in the third quarter, Patrick Mahomes connected with Travis Kelce for a 10-yard touchdown pass that did more than extend Kansas City’s lead as it forever etched Kelce’s name in NFL history. The score is Kelce’s 100th career touchdown (including playoffs), making him only the fourth tight end in NFL history to hit that milestone. He now joins an elite group that includes Antonio Gates (118), Tony Gonzalez (115), and Rob Gronkowski (107).
The touchdown was also Kelce’s 83rd in the regular season, tying him with Priest Holmes as the Chiefs’ all-time leader in total touchdowns. With one more, Kelce will stand alone at the top. Moreover, it wasn’t just history in the making as it was also one of Kelce’s best performances of the season. The 13-year veteran finished the night with six catches for 99 yards and a touchdown, helping Kansas City secure its third straight win and improve to 5–3 on the season.
Kelce’s fiancée Taylor Swift was once again in attendance at Arrowhead Stadium, this being her third consecutive Chiefs game. Cameras caught her celebrating the touchdown alongside Brittany Mahomes.
At 36 years old, Kelce continues to break records that few at his position have even approached. A 10-time Pro Bowler and four-time first-team All-Pro, he already holds the NFL records for most postseason receptions (172), most postseason 100-yard games (9), and most Super Bowl receptions (35).
Among tight ends, Kelce owns the marks for most 1,000-yard seasons (7), most 100-catch seasons (3), and most 100-yard games (37). His single-season record of 1,416 receiving yards remains unmatched. Monday night’s touchdown simply added another win to a career that’s already one of the greatest ever by a tight end.
