Don’t Let Your Dog or Cat Eat These Recalled Pet Foods

Several pet foods have been subject to a recall due to possible salmonella contamination. The dog and cat food products come from Foodynamics, which have voluntarily recalled items under four of their brands: Raw Dog Barkery, Kanu Pets, What’s In The Bowl, and BellePepper Cats. Salmonella-contaminated foods poisoning can lead to severe illnesses in dogs, cats, and other animals and impact humans handling the product with their hands.

Pet food products recalled due to possible salmonella contamination

According to the official recall issued by the FDA, the following products from the Wisconsin-based company could be possibly contaminated with salmonella. The link to the FDA announcement contains images of the exact labels.

• Raw Dog Barkery – Treats for Cats and Dogs Freeze Dried
  • Whole Chicken Hearts (16 oz. or 1 lb.)

Foodynamics has confirmed that the potentially contaminated packages were sent to retailers in New York, Florida, and Wisconsin before being distributed to consumers. The company was able to trace all of the product distribution and has contacted all direct customers, and there have been no reports on adverse health effects on pets or humans due to these products yet.

Consumers who believe they have purchased one of these products are encouraged to return the product for a full refund or dispose of them in a way that pets, children, and wildlife cannot reach it.

The FDA made a correction to this recall, stating that it has removed the Raw Dog Barkery Sliced Chicken Heart product from a prior release and added the What’s In The Bowl products.
