DWTS Season 34 recently had a special guest on Dedication Night, and it was none other than Dennis Quaid. Actress Elaine Hendrix was one of the performers on the stage that night, along with her partner Alan Bersten, and they did a foxtrot dedicated to a close friend. Her and Quaid meeting each other led to a heartwarming moment, and fans online couldn’t stop talking about it, labeling their interaction as The Parent Trap reunion.
DWTS fans react to Dennis Quaid’s surprise appearance on Dedication Night
For the Dedication Night special episode, the DWTS contestants were required to dedicate their performances to a special person.
Consequently, Elaine Hendrix and her partner, Alan Bersten, chose to dedicate their dance to Lisa Ann Walter, who has been a friend to them. Mid-performance, she even joined the duo on stage. Moreover, Walter and Hendrix even re-enacted an iconic scene from their 1998 movie, The Parent Trap, in the dance routine.
Talking about her performance, Hendrix had said, “It means everything to me, the love and support of the people who are here and the people who aren’t here. I just I feel so much love. And when you are lucky enough to have these kinds of people in your life, you have to hold on to them because they’re lifers.” (via People)
However, the audience was pleasantly surprised when Dennis Quaid appeared as a guest on the episode, since he, Hendrix, and Walter all worked in The Parent Trap together. He initially quietly supported the dancers on stage on DWTS.
Quaid sat among the crowd and nodded his approval after their performance. Afterward, both he and Lisa Ann Walter cheered for Hendrix, stating “how proud” they felt of her.
Meanwhile, the audience felt that the moment was all about two people reconnecting about their shared chapters in life. Soon after, videos of The Parent Trap co-stars’ reunion went viral, and fans voiced their opinions on X (formerly Twitter).
One user wrote, “The fact that Dennis Quaid is in the audience has me SHOOK.” Another commented, “SHUT THE FRONT DOOR! Dennis freaking Quaid is in the audience??? I love seeing this Parent Trap reunion.”

Following Elaine Hendrix and Lisa Ann Walter’s DWTS performance, Dennis Quaid told E! News, “I loved when you rang the bell. That was such a tough moment to do. [Elaine] rings the bell, [Lisa] comes in, ‘You rang?’ It’s hysterical.”
