Jonathan Majors & NLE Choppa Clash Over the Bible

On a recent episode of Kirk Franklin’s Den of Kings podcast, Magazine Dreams star Jonathan Majors and rapper NLE Choppa argued about Christianity and how people worship Jesus. The heated exchange quickly went viral, sparking intense debate and reactions across social media.

Jonathan Majors Confronts NLE Choppa in Discussion Over the Bible

On the podcast, Choppa shared that he’s uncomfortable with how much focus Christians put on Jesus, saying, “In Christianity, it’s a thing where people praise the Son more than they praise the Father. And that’s what I don’t like. Because if we are made in the likeness, Jesus is our brother.” You get what I’m saying? Why would I drop down and praise my brother instead of praising my father? And that goes back to honoring your parents.”

Choppa also goes on to question why believers would “drop down and praise my brother instead of praising my father.” This prompted Majors to jump in and ask Choppa if he had “read the Bible?”

When Choppa said he had read it, listened to it, and studied its teachings, Majors replied, “I would say, read it again.“

On October 14, NLE Choppa posted on X, “READ IT AGAIN,” sharing Bible excerpts about family. Matthew 12:49-50 says real family isn’t just blood, it’s anyone doing God’s will. Choppa also referred to John 20:17, which shows Jesus calling his followers brothers and sisters after rising. Hebrews 2:11 backs it up as well. Jesus isn’t shy to call them family.

This debate between Majors and Choppa shows a bigger conversation in Christianity about who Jesus really is and how he connects to God. Some see him as a brotherly figure, while others believe in his divine sonship and role in saving people.

As for NLE Choppa, in November 2023, he was seen taking part in Islamic practices in Dubai, sparking talk of a possible conversion. However, he also often releases Christian-themed music like Messiah (Devil’s Diss) and talks about faith in interviews.

On the other hand, Majors has also long been vocal about his religious standings, saying it is an important part of his life.
