Sources have told RadarOnline.com that J.Lo wants Affleck to help her secure an Oscar nomination for their upcoming musical-thriller, “Kiss of the Spider Woman,” which is set to release on October 10.
As per the tipster, “Oscar has always been Jennifer’s ultimate goal.” With her latest movie, the 56-year-old “thinks this could finally be her moment.” That is why, “She feels Ben should be helping to promote her, not only because he’s a producer, but because after how things ended between them.” A source close to the production claimed, “She believes he owes her that much.”
The mom of twins has gone all out to perform the titular role in the movie directed by Bill Condon. Due to the outcome, J.Lo feels “this role could be the one that gets her the Oscars. Moreover, the songstress “believes that if Ben supports her publicly, it would signal to Hollywood that he still has faith in her talent – even if their relationship didn’t work out.”
But it seems Ben Affleck is not on board with her plan. “He can’t stand the politics of awards season – the campaigning, the photo ops, all the endless promotion,” revealed an insider. However, the 53-year-old did praise Lopez’s performance. He told E! News at the film’s screening in New York City that the actress pulled off the role “with grace and aplomb, and she’s wonderful.”
