Tyrese Gibson might face arrest after his dog attacked neighbor’s spaniel
Tyrese Gibson, best known for his role in the Fast and Furious franchise, is currently under investigation. As per reports, his four Cane Corso dogs allegedly killed his neighbor’s dog, a 5-year-old King Charles Cavalier Spaniel named Henry.
On Monday, the Fulton County Police Department (FCPD) confirmed that the actor was being charged with animal cruelty, and an arrest warrant has been issued.
On September 18, a Buckhead resident reported the death of their dog after discovering its lifeless body in their yard. It is reported that the resident had let his dog out in the yard five minutes before the incident. Accordingly, security footage showed Gibson’s dogs scratching at a door across the street just moments before the attack.
Authorities also said that the dogs were reported to be running loose in the neighborhood on five different occasions. Despite the continuous warnings, the Fast and the Furious actor had failed to contain his dogs.
After the attack, Gibson had told the authorities that he would surrender the dogs to Animal Services. However, when the day came to surrender, he requested additional time to make a decision. According to the reports, FCPD Capt. Nicole Dwyer had warned Gibson that they would issue a search warrant if he didn’t comply. Days later, the authorities searched his property, but neither Gibson nor the dogs were on the premises.
In a public statement, Gibson’s legal team expressed the actor’s condolences. The statement read, “Upon learning of this unfortunate accident, Mr. Gibson immediately made the difficult decision to rehome his dogs to a safe and loving environment. Concerning the misdemeanor warrant, Mr. Gibson is cooperating fully with authorities to address and resolve this matter responsibly.” (via CBS News)
On Tuesday, September 30, his legal team uploaded a post on his official Instagram account. The post featured a video of Gibson and his dogs with a voice-over of a news report regarding the incident. It was also accompanied by a public statement, similar to the earlier one.
