Tyrese Gibson opened up about his body count while sitting down with Kirk Franklin on the Den of Kings podcast. Around the 19-minute mark of the conversation, the actor admitted that his “body count” is what he described as “a little scary.” He explained that from the earliest days of his career, his fan base consisted largely of women, which significantly influenced the circumstances.

According to Gibson, the turning point came when “a powerful man of God” asked him a direct question. He recalled, “Without even coming at me, he just said, ‘Hey, Reese, let me ask you, man. How many more?’” The question did not feel like criticism to him as he elaborated, “I had already had it in my head that I’m doing too much, too often. Too many cities, too many states, too many countries. It’s too much.”

Reflecting further, Gibson said the conversation forced him to confront his behavior. He said, “You either a sex addict and you out here just trying to put your weewee in everything and you just losing your damn mind, or it’s coming from something.” The actor added that he began asking himself what was fueling his sexual appetite.

At one point, Gibson admitted that he convinced himself the lifestyle would eventually end. He explained, “I had convinced myself that at a certain point it’s going to be over. All of this access that I have to all of these women, it’s going to be over soon.”

The actor went on to say that this awareness had already made him consider settling down. He said, “I was already prepared to settle down in my mind because I said if I keep moving the way I’m moving, I’ma die out here. HIV, AIDS is inevitable [for] everyone.” At present, Gibson has been in a relationship with Zelie Timothy since 2021.
